The commands below can be used to delete the old packages of version 4.2 and then install a new one: # cancel all running OnDemand RStudio sessions The default version of R on the updated nodes is 4.2. To see which versions you have used, run the following command: $ ls -ld /home//R/x86_64-redhat-linux-gnu-library/* You can get to della8 from the OnDemand main menu by choosing "Clusters" then "Della Cluster Shell Access." You can also connect via SSH: $ ssh on della8, remove any previous package installations for the version of R that you plan to use. You cannot install the packages using OnDemand RStudio. The solution is to remove all your packages and reinstall them on the della8 login node. If you are encountering problems with packages suddenly not working then it is most likely because your jobs are now running on the upgraded nodes.

The Della operating system upgrade from Springdale Linux 7 to 8 is now complete. If you attempt to install R packages from within RStudio you will encounter this error: > install.packages("microbenchmark") Keep in mind that the visualization nodes are shared between all users. If your work happens to require internet access in RStudio then use one of the visualization nodes by choosing "Interactive Apps" in the OnDemand main menu and then either "RStudio Server on Della Vis1" or "RStudio Server on Della Vis2". Previously, it was possible to install R packages and carry out other network operations in RStudio but this is no longer the case. The correct way to install R packages is to do so on the command line (see Installing R Packages below) before starting a session. Internet access has been disabled in RStudio sessions due to security and compliance reasons. ONDEMAND RSTUDIO CAN NO LONGER ACCESS THE INTERNET ()
